Help! Windows 10 installed 2 nights ago (and we didn't ask for it!) and can't get my Brother printer to work. Have spent 3 hours over last two days with Brother tech support and so far, no help. When I do 'uninstall' in accordance with Brother instructions in order to install new W10 compatible print software drivers, even though it appears that the uninstall went through, when I try to install new Brother software and drivers downloaded from the Brothers website, the install doesn't go through and I get a message that 'the Brother printing device software has already been installed. There are no additional items to install.
I removed the printer via Control Panel and it doesn't show up in the Brother folder in the 'apps' section when I click on Windows 10 start icon.
So maybe something is preventing the uninstall utility to totally get rid of old drivers/software? Am using a Dell desktop.
Can't go back an reinstall the printer using my old installation CD as when I try that it says thet 'this CD does not contain drivers for your computer operating system. Please visit Brother Solutions Center for latest update information'
Any ideas, anyone?

I would like to ask you few questions regarding the issue to get a better picture.
1. Do you get any error message while trying to install the driver?
2. Since when are you facing this issue?
Step 1: Perform Clean boot.
You can perform clean boot Support articleand then install the drivers. Kindly put the PC back to normal startup.
Step 2: Download the printer drivers from Manufacturer’s site.

Thank you for your response. Here are more detailed information about the issues:
- I found that the most current printer drivers were installed in Windows 10 on my computer.
- The computer (Dell Inspiron 3668 Desktop Computer Windows 10 (64 bit) installed) actually recognizes wireless printers in our office (we are a small non-profit). One of the wireless printers is MFC-7860DW.
- We have two MFC-7860DW printers. One is used via wireless and the other is directly connected to one of the computer via USB cable. Our Windows 10 machine can recognize the wireless printer, but not the one with USB.
- When I connect MFC-7860DW printer or MFC-7360N printer to the Windows 10 computer with USB, Windows 10 does not recognize those printers.
We have two Windows 10 machines (the same Dell Inspiron 3668 Desktop); and both of them have the same issue of not being able to connect to printers via USB.
Any solutions for this issue?

I have tried different ports and cables. This issue is consistent with both windows 10 machines we have.
